Kansas City Obama rally pix

Not much insight or really even commentary in this diary, but I wanted to get some photos up quickly. (If you're on dialup, consider yourself warned....)

After speaking to 100K+ (including family and friends of mine) in St. Louis, Obama hopped over to KC for another rally. (The guy is just relentless, ain't he?)

The KC rally was not very far from my house in Hyde Park, so I hoofed it over there, camera in tow. I took well over 100 pictures but most of them were pretty blurry.

I passed the Westboro Baptist douchebag caucus, but I won't post those pictures. I managed to refrain from screaming at them or even talking with them....although I couldn't stop a few cusses from escaping my lips as I walked past them (all five of 'em).

Other than that, I don't know of any other anti-Obama people that bothered to show up. Anyway....

Rep. Cleaver gave a really good speech...."'Taint enough!"

I hate to say this, but Rep. Skelton gave the worst speech I've ever seen a politican give. I was pretty disappointed. The crowd was very fired up after Cleaver, and Skelton's rambling, incoherent speech put everybody to sleep. I couldn't believe how boring he was.

Gov. Sebelius of KS showed up, which was a nice surprise. She was my number one choice for Obama's running mate, and she gave a very nice speech....

The top of Liberty Memorial, which locals refer to as "the Cigarette" for obvious reasons....

O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA!

There was a 20 or 30 minute delay before the second-to-last speaker showed up....apparently Obama spent an hour at his KC HQ down the street at 31st & Gilham making phone calls! Anyway, here's The Man striding onstage....
